weekend in paris

i wish i was named after my grandma first.

so i can be pippo instead of Agatha (my grandma's name).
so i can tell people, Agatha is my grandma. Pippo is me.
Now i can only say.. Angela makes me seems like 30 years older. And I really hate that name.

Ok, I just realised i have messangers in my gbk that i havent even have read! I must thank char for doing up that gbk all those years ago. Thanks babe. :)

If anyone asked me how my day went, i cant really remember. I can only say i was quite pissed the whole day. pms i think. not pre, but post.

Like how all things turn out, i met hoz at dinner!. Again, wasnt on purpose but just happens so. It was quite long ago that we met whilst eating at the same place. Deja vu.

hoz: great meeting ya babe. good how once in a while you meet someone out of your own little league. haha. rock on baby. ;)

I bought two new books. Weekend in Paris by Robyn Sismanis one of them. I know for a fact that her stories are hard to get into. but not harder than the other stories of emlyn rees and josie llyod (except for the boy next door which happens to be somehow a one off perfect writing and the new book.. whatsthetitle? just because i hadnt read it yet). I wanted to see how maybe I could spend my weekend in Paris by myself and find a hot guy to fcuk.

Like on the seine cruise (but i dont want just the seine cruise this time. i want the  cuise with FOOD), an afternoon at the Lourve. Visit Mike at his restaurant just off Louvre-Rivoli. I cant remember his exact road name but then again, its just another street off Rue-Rivoli, and have some home cook food. And some more walking. Its sounds funny. If i said i spent my whole afternoon walking away in SG, its ridiculous. but not in Paris. You could just keep walking, taking photos of other people, interacting with the french and just basically waste your time away in a very extremely satisfied manner.

Go back to the hotel and prepare. because paris is a city that never sleeps. Nightlife includes partying at QUEEN!!. Sat night is gay night, wed night is straight but gay friendly. mon, thurs and sun are just disco nights welcoming everybody.enterence $$ is 10 to 20 euro.

Or if you arent gay friendly (because queen's quite a gay club but the original idea isnt meant to be. it draws mixed crowd still), one very upmarket is called Cabaret (kinda means like those shows.. moulin rouge). Its a rest cum club. book for dinner, so its a sure thing or else you might get thrown out. double take on the dressing too.

or something else. if you havent seen cabaret. then please do. it might be a tourist trap but it actually is not. 50% of the audience is french usually.

the famous one being moulin rouge, Les Folies Bergeres, Le Lido, etc.

or if youre looking for a cafes, Les Deux Magots and Cafe de Flore is extremely good to people watch. and those two cafes are rivals. Les Deux is located at 170, boulevard Saint-Germain, 6th (if youre metro-ing, the station is Saint Germain) and de Flore is at 172, boulevard Saint-Germain, 6th. spot it? then that is quite for the high class. if youre looking for a down-to-earth paris cafe then i think, La Palette is good. (just beware, food is serve only from 12-3pm. and theyre closed in august. they arent the smile-and-serve. so you might want to just take note. they arent the most polite waiting staff.

Then to Notre-Dame Cathedral, the next morn (sunday, 11am mass). After that, a walk down the siene for fun. Then up to where louis vuitton's street(St-Germain-des-Pres) for a day's of shopping and down to the Arch of Truimph (which in chinese we call the kai xuan men, when they won the war against you-know-who) and down to mercedez showroom@Champs Elysees (the street name) and also peugeot's. Then a lil shopping and have some hot choco at mariffet.

Then stay at (i know people will wonder because this hotel isnt a great or lavish hotel. instead the floor creaks. i mean, really, creaks. )

Hotel brighton just at rue-Rivoli. Esp in late March, its not so cold but cold enough (for me tho. for some people it might just be too cold. its abt 11 degrees) to lose the aircon, open your windows wide (but on the malfunctioning heater) and live just on the romantic Paris breeze, get your windows open, the curtains flips and out onto the (really really small) balconey to watch people. You can pull a chair over but you cant get a chair over to the balconey. you can put the chair just outside it and your legs into the balconey and enjoy the view.

my favourtie position in Paris, that is. :)

There is also another one, (that is if you dont get the nice room i had). My dad's room. His room has windows and if you look out, you can see THE view.

you know how usually they have this picture showing european short buildings, one after another? if you look out my dad's room window there, you could see the back alley. Its different from Asian back alley. In true European style's back alley.

Did i metion the king size beds? ;)

ok, all i have written draws from experiences of my time in europe. they might not "chop" your passports but it aint anything particular to worry about. For the past years, they have never stamp i think. Conserving their stamp inks, i think

All i wrote sounds like i really love paris eh? I thought i didnt, but like i said. writing takes passion. The more i write the more i like Paris. Wonders why. haha, i just get suck into it. and believe me, you would want to visit paris and travel around paris first then you move on to other parts of europe. it aint wise to leave paris to the last stop. and while youre doing paris, do remember to make a trip to their local stores (those real frenchmen's stores. be it groceries/ cd stores / cafe to see how they live. ) and also visit Versailles . for those who learn history, you know why. its just next to paris. :)

just maybe if anyone's interested to hear milan's or florence story .. just look for me. haha.

hmm, ok. i'm tired.
